Ma Galerie "Au Bonheur du Jour" présentera prochainement  une rétrospective sur les bordels parisiens et la prostitution — un seul établissement de province sera illustré : « Le Palais Oriental à Reims », lieu magnifique, avec une très riche décoration égalant les meilleurs lupanars parisiens.

Cette exposition comprendra un ensemble spectaculaire de photos, dessins, peintures, objets, documents sur ce thème.

Sans oublier les "Bordels d'Hommes", existant depuis l'Antiquité, qui seront évoqués par une trentaine de photos et dessins.

L'exposition comme le livre catalogue sont organisés en rubriques:   Les lieux, Les pensionnaires, Tableaux vivants, Fessée et flagellation, Lingerie libertine, Bordels d’hommes, Guides et publicités, Les jetons, Les objets, Peintres et illustrateurs Cartes postales, Chansons, Journaux illustrés, Littérature, Cinéma, Prison St-Lazare, Fermeture.

Un accent particulier sera mis sur un ensemble de maisons mythiques, comme Le Chabanais, Le One Two Two, Le Sphinx, la Fleur Blanche, L’Etoile de Kléber, Le Palais oriental à Reims.

This exhibition is a retrospective about  brothels and prostitution in Paris  from 1860 to 1946 - the only provincial house evoked is the Palais Oriental in Reims, a magnificent place whose luxuriant decoration matched the best brothels in Paris.

A spectacular collection of photographs, drawings, paintings, various objects and documents will be on display.

Brothels for men will be evoked too: they existed since Antiquity and they will be depicted through thirty or so vintage photographs and drawings.

The exhibition will be divided into seventeen sections: Places, Women, Scenes with models, Spanking and flagellation, Libertine lingerie, Brothels for men, Guides and adverts, Tokens, Props, Painters and illustrators, Postcards, Songs, Illustrated magazines, Litterature, Movies, The Saint-Lazare jail, The Closing of brothels.

A special emphasis will be put on some mythical places, such as the Chabanais, the One Two Two, the Sphinx, the Fleur Blanche, the Etoile de Kléber, the Palais Oriental in Reims.
